1. Festivals

The most celebrated festival in Taiwan is the Chinese festivals. Like the Chinese Lunar New year, Lantern Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid Autumn Festival and Zhongyuan Festival ( ‘ghost festival’) are considered a huge festival are that celebrated in Taiwan.

The three huge annual holidays in Taiwan are the Chinese New Year, Mid Autumn Festival and Dragon Boat Festival.

Lantern Festival




During the Lantern Festival, many different shapes and sizes of lantern is display lighting up the city of Taiwan.

Lantern Festival event is held at many different places of Taiwan. In Pingxi Township, releasing of lantern into the sky, having guessing riddles and eating of rice flour dumping is a traditional custom.

Other Lantern Festival event can also be found in Yanshui Beehive Rocket Festival in Tainan County, Taipei Lantern Festival at Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and Kaohsiung Lantern Festival at Love River.

2. Sports

Looking for activities that will allow you to have adrenaline rush? From the soft to the hard recreational activities, Taiwan has it all.

Some example are :

- Bungee Jumping

- Mountain hiking / biking

- Bird watching

- Para-gliding

- Scuba Diving

3. Entertainment

Out of the busy and hectic lifestyle, there are lots of entertainments that can be found in Taiwan. In the day time, the cities is alive however, the nightlife of Taiwan never stops either.

Discos, club, lounges and bars, all the night activities you name it, Taiwan has it.

Hungry at night? Taiwan night market can definitely satisfy your needs. The most popular night market in Taiwan is Shilin in Taipei.

Common entertainment activities like cinema, KTV can also be found in Taiwan


4. Shopping

Ever heard of shop till you drop? Taiwan is definitely one of the place that provide you with endless of shopping. Be it the modernise shopping centre to the streets shopping, Taiwan has it all. Some of the famous shopping district are Ximenting and Kaohsiung.


5. Recreational



Other than shopping and food, Taiwan is famous for its hot spring too. Allow youself to soak inside the hot temperature to relax and enjoy the nature environment.
